HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It’s human nature to resist change.
For those who have youngsters attending Holland Public Schools, possible changes to the structure of the district schools spurred a capacity crowd to attend an open house discussion last night in the cafeteria of Holland East K-7 school. Dr. Brian Davis, the district’s superintendent, made a presentation about the options that the Board of Education are considering for next fall, most notably returning to K-5 schools, along with a designated middle school and having grades nine through 12 at Holland High School. Declining enrollment is seen as the biggest reason for a possible change. Attendees were also given the opportunity to fill out “Hopes and Fears” feedback form following the presentation.
Two more similar open houses are planned before the board holds a special meeting on March 26th to decide on the matter. A link to more information is here.
