HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search is on for a man who apparently held up a convenience store and stabbed a man in separate robberies on Holland’s North Side last evening.
The first incident occurred around 5:30 PM at the Convenience Store of Speedway off of Butternut Drive and James Street, where the suspect flashed a knife and was able to flee with an undisclosed amount of cash without harming the clerk on duty. The second occurred about five hours later in the same vicinity as a man walking in the area was approached from behind by the suspect, who then stabbed the victim when the man said that he had no money.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, “These incidents are believed to be related, as the victims both gave similar descriptions of the suspect. He’s described as a young-looking black male wearing a black hoodie.”
The stabbing victim was treated for a minor wound at Holland Hospital and released. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer.
