HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A “candidate meet-and-greet” is what organizers are calling a gathering of GOP hopefuls on Holland’s North Side tonight.
Hosted by West Michigan Republicans, the 6 PM event at the Great Legs Winery off of Lakewood Boulevard will feature appearances by US Senate candidate Sandy Pensler, Secretary of State hopeful Stanley Grot, State Senate aspirants Joe Haveman and Roger Victory, current State Representative Jim Lilly, who is running for reelection, and Ottawa County Commissioner Al Dannenberg, who is also running for reelection.
The event will also spotlight the Michigan Trump Republican Team, which includes West Michigan Republicans founder Diane Schindlbeck, who are looking to counter the “off-year” election trend that usually goes against against the incumbent party in the White House. “After (Mr.) Trump was elected, we knew that we needed to keep these voters engaged and keep delivering our President’s message,” she explained in a recent interview on “WHTC Talk of the Town.” “Our slogan is, ‘We Got Your Back, President Trump,’ so we’re getting out there, keeping the Trump supporters enthused, and that is what is going to be important in 2018 and 2020.”
Complimentary light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be provided at tonight’s festivities, with a cash bar available, and while the event is free and open to the public, registration is required.
