WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A community mental health forum is being planned for the Lakeshore.
State representatives Daniela Garcia of Holland Township and Jim Lilly of Park Township announced such a 90-minute session for the Ottawa County Fillmore Street Complex’ main conference room next Friday, February 23rd. Guest speakers at the 5 PM forum include Lynda Zeller of the state Department of Health and Human Services, Lynne Doyle of Ottawa County Community Mental Health, and Jeff Brown of Lakeshore Regional Entity. The event is free and open to the public with no registration required.
Earlier this week, the state House Health Policy Committee unanimously sent to the Lower Chamber floor a bill, sponsored by Casco Township Republican Mary Whiteford, that would ensure patient access to psychiatric beds in Michigan through a database that would be developed and maintained by the state Department of Health and Human Services for access by health care facilities and providers.
