GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A now-34-year-old Standale woman learned her fate this morning.
Heather McFarrin was sentenced by Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing for a term between 15 and 25 years in prison on a second-degree murder count. She pled guilty last month to charges stemming from an incident last April 15th at the Allendale Meadows mobile home park in which 26-year-old Spencer Rauch was found stabbed to death. Detectives say that the two, who were apparently not in an domestic relationship, had been quarreling before the deadly assault took place.
McFarrin has been held in the Ottawa County Jail without bond since her arrest the day after the incident, and her sentence included those 303 days she has already served behind bars.
