GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Lakeshore through 4 PM today, as forecasters in the National Weather Service office at Ford Airport in Grand Rapids say that total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches in Ottawa County and 4 to 7 inches in Allegan County are predicted. South of Baseline Road, a Winter Storm Warning for 6 to 10 inches of snow remains in effect through 7 PM. Weather Service spotters say that about 2 inches fell in Ottawa County over a four-hour period this morning, while 5 inches came over a 12-hour span in Van Buren County.
Looking ahead, some additional snowfall is predicted over the weekend, mainly from Grand Rapids to the south of east, but the outlook at this point for next week shows a moderation of temperatures to around the freezing mark with no snow in the forecast until Wednesday night into Thursday.
