ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There will be a change at the helm with Herman Miller, but it will be “an orderly transition.”
So says a company statement on Monday announcing the pending retirement of President, CEO and Board Member Brian Walker. He spent 14 of his 29 years with the Zeeland-based office furniture-maker as President and CEO, and said in the statement that “now is the right time to transition the Company to its next generation of leadership.”
Walker’s retirement date is August 31st. The board has established a CEO Search Committee composed of independent directors, and will retain a yet-to-be-named “leading” executive search team “to help identify and evaluate internal and external candidates to lead Herman Miller.” Walker will assist the board in the search process.
