HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A leading figure in the arts along the Lakeshore is stepping back from the spotlight.
During last night’s “Frozen” fundraiser event at the New Holland Beer Garden, Holland Area Arts Council executive director Lorma Freestone announced that she will be retiring from her position in June after 12 years. She said that she wanted more time for other personal pursuits, but emphasized to those attending that she will be “just a phone call away.”
Freestone has been with the HAAC since 2003 in various capacities. The Council’s board has established an executive search team and hope to name her replacement by May in order to facilitate a seamless transition.
