HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Hot off of the presses, it’s the 2018 Holland Area Visitors Guide.
The hundred-page, four-color guide features information on area attractions and events, along with a plethora of photographs, a majority of which were taken by local photographers, and a cover photo of a tulip bed taken by Pamela Davis that won a competition for the honor. In this day and age of online and digital information that has made staples such as phone books, magazines and newspapers become more and more passe, Holland Area Visitors Bureau Executive Director Sally Laukitis says that this publication is still very relevant. “You would be surprised at how many people will call us and say, ‘I’m on your website right now; can you send me a visitor guide?’” she explained. “People still want that tangible (magazine) in their hands that they can take with them, and the number of people that walk into our office, that have picked them up in (Michigan) Welcome Centers, is just astounding, it’s crazy. The fact that we’ve mailed close to 30 thousand out of our office, that’s a lot.”
A total of 140 thousand copies were printed up for state Welcome Centers and other outlets that disseminate tourism information, with an online version available by mid-February.
