WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – The state’s most recent Congressional Medal of Honor winner will be in Washington next Tuesday, courtesy of Michigan’s senior US Senator.
Retired Army Veteran James McCloughan will be the official guest of Lansing Democrat Debbie Stabenow when President Trump makes his annual State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress in the US House Chambers at the Capitol. The South Haven native was awarded this nation’s highest military honor last July for his heroic efforts during the Vietnam War, and Stabenow and fellow Senator Gary Peters of suburban Detroit drafted legislation that waived the five-year statute of limitations between the act of heroism and the Medal of Honor awarding for McCloughan.
Coverage of the President’s State of the Union address can be heard this Tuesday evening, beginning at 9 PM, on 1450 WHTC and the new 99-7 FM.
