HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Christmas may have been a month ago, but Haworth workers couldn’t be faulted if they saw their bosses dressed in Santa Claus outfits yesterday.
Managers personally delivered thank you notes to employees, which included a message from company chairman Matt Haworth that next month, around five million dollars in one-time bonuses will be given away in increments of a thousand dollars for full-time workers and 500 dollars for part-timers. This is not a by-product of last month’s passage of the federal tax reform package that lowered corporate tax rates, but rather, it’s to recognize the anniversary of the founding of the Holland-based office furniture maker in the garage of GW Haworth in 1948. More than 45 hundred staffers worldwide will share in the bonus.
Haworth officials say that strong 2017 revenues, the amount of which will be disclosed next month, along with an improved business climate, enabled the company to award these bonuses.
