HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland City Council has a few matters to consider tonight.
Before the biweekly work-study session at Holland City Hall, the panel will huddle behind closed doors with City Attorney Ron Vander Veen at 5:30 PM for about 30 minutes to discuss pending litigation and a couple of legal opinions. When they emerge, Council will go over upcoming bids for solid waste, recycling and yard waste services, including whether to have the Holland BPW resume handling billing responsibilities; discuss the process for determining the future of the James DeYoung power plant site now that the BPW generates electricity at Holland Energy Park; and consider the next steps in the City Greenhouse site off of Central Avenue with the backdrop of a lawsuit filed earlier this month against the city by a former employee claiming she was fired for blowing the whistle on code violations at the facility off of Central Avenue.
