HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland City Council holds its first meeting of the New Year this evening.
Among the items on the agenda is an ordinance amendment that would allow the sale of “bottled water and pre-packaged snacks” in temporary bleachers that are installed along the route of the three parades during the Tulip Time Festival. Organizers say that this will prevent medical issues among attendees, some of whom have limited mobility. These “peddlers” would be contracted out by the Festival.
Two improvement projects could get off of the drawing board if council approves low bids tonight. One is from Denny’s Excavating of 284 thousand dollars for entrance upgrades at the DeGraaf Nature Center. The other is from Brookview Landscaping for over 61 grand for work on the Washington School Green Park.
Council members will hold a special closed-door meeting to discuss pending litigation at 6:30 PM, a half hour before the regularly-scheduled, bi-weekly business session in chambers at Holland City Hall.
