HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The next step in the process of finding a permanent City Manager will be taken by the Holland City Council tonight.
Following a briefing last week, retained consultant Amy Cell is recommending the creation of a nine-person committee to “facilitate the search process that will guide City Council in its selection” of a replacement for Ryan Cotton, who stepped down at the end of June. Her choices for members on this panel include Mayor Nancy DeBoer, councilmen Mike Trethewey, Jay Peters and Quincy Ward, and “community representatives” Phil Meyer, Phil Miller, Jennifer Owens, Lyn Raymond and Ernesto Villarreal. Should council concur with Cell’s recommendations, this new committee would convene in two weeks. A seven-month contract with Interim City Manager Greg Robinson expires at the end of January.
Also during tonight’s 7 PM biweekly business meeting in chambers at Holland City Hall, council will hold a procedural first reading of an ordinance amendment to designate a “protection zone” around West Michigan Regional Airport that would streamline the site review process for future development in that vicinity. A link to the agenda for tonight’s session is here.
