HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – This holiday season Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Grand Haven Firefighters will helpfulfill the wishes of area kids.
It’s the 9th Annual Shop with a Sheriff on December 5th is where the department and firefighters team up with Wal-Mart, Meijer, Grand Haven Public Schools and Grand Haven Township Fire & Rescue to pair less fortunate local kids with deputies and firefighters for holiday shopping.
The deputies and firefighters will help pick out the perfect gifts for those moms, dads and siblings on each child’s gift-giving list. Of course, they select a little something special for each child shopper, too. It’s all on the house thanks to the generosity of the Grand Haven Meijer and Wal-Mart stores.
While donations for “Shop with a Sheriff” are secured for this year, those wishing to help local kids can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in West Olive for Toys for Tots by December 15. The drop-off box is accessible to the public Monday through Friday from 8-5 p.m.
WHTC is also a Toys for Tots drop off location and we are open Monday through Friday from 8-5 p.m.
