HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – As of midday on Monday, a suspect in the robbery of a convenience store on Holland’s South Side remained at large.
According to Public Safety Captain Keith Mulder, a black man described as being in his mid-20’s, around 5-10 to six feet tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, walked into the Southside Party Store in the 800 block of Washington Avenue just before 8 PM on Sunday evening and demanded money from the clerk, who claims to have seen a larger frame, semi-automatic pistol in the man’s hand. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money and alcohol, the suspect fled on foot, while the shaken clerk was not injured. Police canine units lost the man’s scent at a spot across the street from where the incident had taken place.
Anyone with any information on the matter is asked to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety (policetips@cityofholland.com) or Silent Observer.
