HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Put on your Halloween costume and dress up your pooch for the annual “Trunk or Treat” event with Dogs Bay North.
Dogs Bay North is a local dog daycare located in Holland and proceeds from the event will benefit local nonprofit animal shelters.
There will be plenty of fun for the family and fido. Activities include kids’ games, photo booth, a pet costume contest, a raffle, and a bake sale. Pet vendors will be on site as well.
Bethany Hunt is the manager at Dogs Bay North and says West Michigan K9 will be on hand too at 1:00 p.m. with a demonstration with Sammy who has been adopted at Harbor Humane Society and is being trained to be a local police dog.
“At 2:00 p.m. we have our costume contest. Lot’s of different categories like Cutest, Scariest, Most Original, Best Homemade, Funniest, Best Couple and then Best in Show. The Best in Show will win a $150 gift certificate for a professional pet portrait.”
The main activity at the event is the trunk or treat, with surprises and treats for both 2-legged and 4-legged friends. All animals must be friendly with other animals and people, and current on vaccinations.
Proceeds from this event benefit four local nonprofit animal rescues: A New Start on Life, Harbor Humane, Headin’ Home Pet Rescue, and Tyson’s Place Animal Rescue. Doors open at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28. The event concludes at 4:00 p.m.
