ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – While the city of Zeeland decides what direction to go for it’s police services the Zeeland City council has appointed two veteran officers to the position of Interim Police Chief.
Sergeant Tom Ball will be Interim Police Chief of Administrative Services and Corporal Kevin Cisler will be Interim Police Chief of Operational Services. Between the two of them they share over 50 years of law enforcement experience according to the department’s Facebook post.
Mayor Kevin Klynstra says it’s a good fit..
“Instead of one person doing everything they can share and still do their other duties as well. Monday night we’re going to have a work/study session. We are going to present to City Council and tell them what we have found out so far in our committee.”
The Monday October 23rd work/study session will beheld at the Howard Miller Library Community Canter at 6:00 p.m. and then another public information session will be held Wednesday, November 1 at 7 p.m.
Zeeland Police Chief William Olney will be officially retired October 25th.
