HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – As a 56-year-old Holland man awaits arraignment on charges stemming from the stabbing death of his 37-year-old girlfriend, the identity of the victim was disclosed on Wednesday.
Holland Department of Public Safety Captain Robert Buursma said that it was the body of Crystal Suzanne Latham that was found by officers and first responders when they were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of West 14th Street around 1:30 PM on Monday. Five hours later, a state trooper spotted a silver 2000 Toyota Four Runner that witnesses at the scene claim was driven by Keith Gerald Williams northbound on US-31 just south of the Tulip City Limits, and with the help of Public Safety patrol vehicles, they were able to pull the SUV over and arrest Williams in a parking lot without incident. A motive for the crime wasn’t immediately disclosed by detectives, who believe that the suspect acted alone in the apparent stabbing death of Latham.
Williams, who reportedly has a criminal record stretching back four decades, is in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting a scheduled 11 AM hearing via a video linkup before Holland District Court Judge Bradley Knoll.
