HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An overlooked aspect of the Holland Energy Park may be addressed today.
During this afternoon’s meeting, Holland BPW General Manager Dave Koster will recommend to his board approval of a contract with GDK Construction worth a total of nearly 142 thousand dollars to build a pedestrian path and gate for supporting the walk-in traffic generated by the visitor center at the new power plant. “It’s a very important balance to strike with regard to having a community resource that you want to be able to educate and allow the community to connect with it’s utility provider, but yet realizing that you have to provide a safe situation,” Koster explained during a recent appearance on “WHTC Morning News.” “We’re trying to walk that very carefully with this.”
GDK had the lowest bid out of four companies to submit applications with the BPW on this project.
