LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two schools one in West Michigan and the other in Southeast Michigan are among the thirteen Michigan schools that have made the list for the 2017 National Blue Ribbon Schools.
In Jenison, Pinewood Elementary School is on the list out of 342 schools nationwide, as well as Lincoln School in St. Joseph. The U.S. Department of Education says the schools on the list are recognized for either high academic achievement or having success closing achievement gaps.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. Now in its 35th year, the U. S. Department of Education has bestowed this coveted award on more than 8,500 schools.
