LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – As the heat wave continues, records are being set for September.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) , Lansing and Grand Rapids haven’t seen it this warm in September since 1920. A new record was set for September 25th at 92 and 91 degrees.
Schools in West Michigan continue to either close completely or have a half day due to the heat. Most of the schools are in Kent and Allegan Counties. Any closings or changes in schedules will be on-air on WHTC Morning News and online.
It will start to cool off Wednesday through the weekend with temps in the upper 60’s.
