HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland Department of Public Safety (HDPS) has issued a safety warning to parents and students after reports of a man trying to lure students into his truck.
In a post on their Facebook page, authorities say the man is in his 40’s and drives a red pickup described as an older red truck, but in good shape with a cab and a half.The subject was a white male who was possibly tan, possibly in his 40’s wearing a white cap and aviator sunglasses and no facial hair.
This week reports from several students included an incident in Holland at 16th and Lincoln. The teenage girl was out running and approached by the man asking her to get into his vehicle and offered her a ride several times. Police say in each of the incidents, students have responded appropriately.
Police are asking the community to please keep an eye out for a vehicle and subject with the above description in the area of schools and kids. HDPS is investigating and watching for this vehicle.
