HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The 23-year-old Holland man who died in a personal watercraft accident on Lake Michigan has been identified.
Nathan Jon Marcus was a graduate of Holland Christian and Calvin College, and worked for Marcus Automotive and ME Yacht Restoration. Nathan died at Holland Hospital on Sunday, September 17, after being pulled from the water.
According to his obituary, Nate was a passionate young man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed time on or around the water and hours spent working on the “Car Bar”. His love for life was surpassed only by his love for his extended family and close friends. Nate was caring and compassionate, the first to offer a helping hand or come alongside a loved one in need.
Nate is survived by his parents, Jon and Jane Marcus; sisters: Molly Marcus, Amanda (Kevin) Deane; grandparents: Konrad (Marilyn) Marcus, Fannie Evenhouse and several aunts and uncles. Nate was preceded in death by grandparents Jeanne Marcus, Ed Evenhouse and Uncle Tom Hoekstra.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Harderwyk Ministries located at 1627 West Lakewood Blvd. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Harderwyk Ministries or Holland Christian Schools, both of which helped shape Nate into the remarkable young man he was.
