HOLLAND TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 59-year-old Holland man is in stable condition after crashing his vehicle while driving at a high rate of speed Monday evening.
Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle injury crash around 9:42 p.m. on the WB I-196 exit ramp at the Adams Street exit in Holland Township. Sgt. Matt Wilfong says a witness stated that a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by John Greene passed her on the exit ramp from westbound I-196 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve on the ramp and ran off the roadway hitting several trees and came to rest 100 yards off the roadway.
Greene who was the only occupant in the vehicle, told deputies he had no recollection of the crash. He was transported to Holland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by Life EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
