HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures greeted attendees to the Michigan Municipal League’s annual convention that kicked off its four-day run in Holland on Tuesday.
The MML unveiled its “Decade of Placemaking in Michigan” report in front of the 8th Street Fireplace location, looking back on the organization’s work over the past 10 years and establishing goals for future growth of the state’s central municipal districts. Through Friday, the League will be holding workshops and breakout sessions based out of the convention’s headquarters at the Haworth Inn, while taking members on tours of various local landmarks. The meeting climaxes with a Friday general session at Hope College’s Jack Miller Center about the impact of Colorado’s legalization of the recreational use of marijuana.
In the attached video, Shanna Draheim, director of policy development for the MML, briefly went over the report, while League Board President Rosalynn Bliss of Grand Rapids and Holland Mayor Nancy DeBoer also made remarks.
