WYOMING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search for a missing mother from Wyoming had authorities searching a home in Hudsonville on Wednesday, but now the focus is on the women’s vehicle.
Thirty-five-year-old Ana Carrillo was last seen at about 8:00 Sunday morning, September 3. Wyoming Police Chief James Carmody says Carrillo was last seen right before she left to pick up her children from the home of their father who is ex-boyfriend.
Carmody says the focus of the search is now on the vehicle she was driving that day, a 2013 red Chevy Impala. The vehicle was found in the St. John Vianney Church parking lot on Clyde Park Avenue near 40th Street.
“We’re hoping that somebody saw something. Somebody walking from the car or someone who parked the car.”
Investigators have been searching her ex-boyfriend’s house since Tuesday and searched the ex-boyfriend’s father’s house on Wednesday in Hudsonville, but no one has been named a suspect in the case.
Her cousin Toya Carrillo says Ana wouldn’t just disappear on her own.
“She’s very close with her kids. That’s why this situation is eerie. It’s out the norm for her. She would never leave her kids ever. Ever. We all feel like something’s definitely wrong.”
Carillo is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a white Aeropostle sweater, gray sweatpants and white shoes.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about who parked the car to contact the Wyoming Department of Public Safety at 616-530-7300 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
