MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An animal shelter in Muskegon is reaching out to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and their pets.
The no-kill animal shelter The Noah Project in Muskegon iis working with Flying Fur and Pilots N Paws (PNP) to fly shelter animals in the Gulf Coast to West Michigan. PNP is a volunteer group, there are no scheduled flights or fees. Instead, pilots and animal rescuers work together directly using the Pilots N Paws discussion board on their forum online. Rescue volunteers can post requests on the “Ride Board: Animals Needing Transport” forum and search for pilot availability and space on the “Pilots Volunteering Services” and “Space on Planned Flights” forums.
The shelter says they are working to clear space for the animals being rescued in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey’s devestating floods. .
The Noah Project is also asking for donations of things like food, blankets, and money for the animals it is flying to West Michigan.
