HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 19-year-old Holland Township man has been arraigned in Holland District Court.
Captain Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says Angelo Gutierrez in custody and currently lodged at the Ottawa County jail. Gutierrez has been charged with receiving and concealing over $20,000 worth of property, receiving and concealing of weapons and firearms and selling of firearms. Judge Jonas of the 50th District court posed a $15,000 cash bond.
Bennett says a number of rifles were taken in July from a parked vehicle in the area of 132nd Avenue and James Street. Acting on recent tips, a search warrant was executed on Wednesday at a residence off of 152nd Avenue north of New Holland Street in Port Sheldon Township. That then led investigators to an undisclosed location on Holland’s North Side and the subsequent arrest of the suspect, whose identity will be disclosed following an arraignment in Holland District Court on charges of receiving and concealing stolen property. Three of the five weapons have been recovered.
The sheriff’s office says more charges and arrests in the matter are likely as the investigation continues. Tips to the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer are welcome.
