OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A single-vehicle, rollover crash on Saturday morning in West Olive hospitalized a woman and may have put her future driving privileges in question.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Buter, the unnamed motorist was driving her car southbound on US-31 around 10 AM and was approaching Port Sheldon Street when she lost control of her vehicle due to a “medical condition,” causing her to perhaps black out. The car veered to the left, went across the median and through both northbound lanes without being struck or striking a vehicle, drove into a field near the Ottawa Area Center complex and rolled over.
The motorist suffered “moderate injuries” as a result of the crash and was taken to Holland Hospital in stable condition. Buter added that the driver will be referred for a reexamination by the Michigan Secretary of State’s office to determine her future driving status as the incident remains under investigation.
