FRUITPORT, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – One person is dead after house fire in the overnight hours in Fruitport Township.
WOOD TV 8 reports the house is located in the 5200 block of East Pontaluna Road and started just before 1:00 a.m. Friday, August 25. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene to assist because no fire hydrants were nearby. The house was destroyed in the fire.
A victim whose name has not been released, was found inside the home and the The Michigan State Police fire investigation team is assisting in the case.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
