As the construction season (a.k.a. summer) comes to a close, the City of Holland is wrapping up it’s 2017 Street Resurfacing program.
Starting Monday, August 28, Black Gold Paving Company is scheduled to begin milling residential streets spanning from W. 22nd St. to W. 29th St. The following is the portions of street that will be affected.
W. 29th St.- VanRaalte to WashingtonW. 26th St.- Washington to EastW. 25th St.- VanRaalte to Washington to East EndW. 23rd St.- West end to VanRaalte to WashingtonW 22nd St.- VanRaalte to Washington to Maple to Pine
After the milling is completed, paving will be begin with a tentative Aug 29th start date and will continue for the next two days. During the time of construction, parking on the roads affected is prohibited. Access to the residences during repaving will be limited to emergencies only.
There will be no road closures during the construction, but homeowners may find their driveway’s not easily accessible during the repaving. Also, drivers should not drive down roads that have a wet, shiny coat of tack applied to it, as that will further lengthen the repaving process if disturbed.
The completion date of all road work in the city of Holland is October 31, 2017. All dates are weather dependent and are subject to change.
A map of the streets affected, as well as other road construction projects underway in Holland, is available here.
