HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The City of Holland is announcing the resumption of full scale work on the Civic Center project starting today, August 21.
On August 1st , interior demolition work was immediately halted following the tragic accident in which Rafael Hernandez-Alvarez was injured and Ruben Gomez-Vazques lost his life.
Mayor Nancy De Boer says their thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families of the two men and the work team on site that heartbreaking day.
After review of the cause of the accident and the continued structural integrity of the building, it has been determined that work can begin again within the Civic Center. At this time, it is not known if there will be a delay in the completion of the project, which is planned for fall 2018
