HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Ottawa County has been named 9th in the nation in the 15th annual Digital Counties survey for their website.
The Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties says the survey compared populations from 250,000-499,000 and identified the best technology practices around U.S. counties. The survery identified Initiatives that streamline delivery of government services, encourage collaboration and shared services, enhance cyber security and even reduce carbon emissions.
Communications Manager for Ottawa County Shannon Felgner says it’s another feather in the cap for the county. The website is always being updated she says.
“You know miOttawa.org is a place where people come who are maybe thinking about coming to visit. So we want to provide some visual stimulation for those people who are thinking that maybe they want to visit this area for a vacation. So we try to keep the pictures and that sort of thing updated. When it comes to cyber security, we’re always trying to stay one step ahead.”
Other Michigan Counties making the top ten in their population categories include Allegan County.
