HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The search is on for a man who allegedly robbed a Holland gas station’s convenience store on Sunday morning.
According to a statement from the Holland Department of Public Safety, a black man, about 35 years old, 5-6 and 140 pounds, walked into the Shell station off of River Avenue near 16th Street, brandished a handgun, demanded money from and received an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk on duty, and then pedaled off on a medium-sized mountain bike westbound on 16th Street. The clerk was shaken but not hurt. A subsequent search of the area by public safety officers and Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies proved to be unfruitful.
The suspect was described as wearing a black and white ball cap backwards, with bright blue earrings in both ears, a black t-shirt, jean shorts and brown shoes. Images from the store’s surveillance video were released by the Public Safety Department.
Anyone with any information on the matter is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer.
