TALLMADGE TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 61-year-old Grand Rapids man is in serious condition after crashing his vehicle in Tallmadge Township Monday evening.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Tallmadge Fire Rescue were called to 8th Avenue and Leonard at 7:07 p.m. after reports that the driver William Klein was pinned in his vehicle. Klein was driving a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica on 8th Avenue when he passed a slow moving farm implement. The vehicle then passed through the stop sign at Leonard at a high rate of speed without stopping. The vehicle went airborne and the driver lost control went into a ditch and the vehicle rolled over.
Sgt. Eric Westveer says Klein was transported to Spectrum Hospital in serious condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
