HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Parks (OCP) is looking for volunteers to help monitor the goats removing invasive species at Riverside Park.
Volunteers are a critical part of the Prescribed Browsing project. OCP is able to keep its program costs low by having volunteers perform daily checks of the goats. Including the hike to the goat enclosure, a goat check is a weekly commitment of 2-2.5 hours. No experience with livestock is needed. Training is provided.
Training will be held Friday, July 14 at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Riverside Park. Registration is required. Please contact Natural Resources Management Supervisor Melanie Manion via email or by phone at 616-738-4810.
