HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – If you live here or vacation here then you’ve know it all along. That Holland is one of the best beach towns in America.
A website called “Tasting Table” thinks so it. The online website says:
This Dutch-founded town on the shores of Lake Macatawa takes its heritage seriously: It’s home to a centuries-old windmill, a tulip festival and Dutch-inspired food, like the classic pastries from deBoer Bakkerij & Dutch Brothers Restaurant. Non-Dutch options range from The Biscuit’s creative breakfast dishes to Boatwerks’ elegant waterfront dining. The beautiful lakeshore includes Holland State Park, Laketown Beach, Tunnel Park, a charming red lighthouse and sand dunes that provide sweeping views.”
Sally Laukitis of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau says it’s another tool in the tool kit.
“So this will join the ever growing list of accolades. People actually do look at those things. We use it promotionally when we are talking to travel writers, film crews and the media. So it’s big. it’s big for us.”
Also on the list, Cannon Beach in Oregon, Shelter Island in New York and Santa Monica, California.
