HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland Department of Public Safety is searching for suspects in an incident where shots were fired Monday afternoon in the Meadowlanes apartment complex.
At 3:23 p.m. officers were sent to the corner of Norcrest Place and Ramblewood Drive in the Meadowlanes apartment complex to investigate a shots fired complaint. Upon arrival officers talked to various witnesses who said that the subjects involved fled from the area in two different vehicles.
A white Chrysler 300 with two occupants entered the complex and drove past a person on foot in the area. After passing this individual, it is believed that shots were fired from one of the occupants in the vehicle towards the person on foot and the person on foot then returned fire with a handgun towards the vehicle. The Chrysler 300 immediately fled from the complex and the person on foot was seen getting into a red or burgundy extended cab pick-up and then left the complex. Officers were unable to locate any evidence that indicated anyone was injured in this incident.
Witnesses describe the person on foot as a black male, 20 -30 years old, last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. Investigators are attempting to obtain a more detailed description of the two occupants in the Chrysler 300 but have nothing further to release at this time.
Anyone who may have knowledge of this incident or is familiar with the vehicles or persons involved in this incident is requested to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety at (616) 355-1100 or email investigators online.
