6/18 Sunday: New Holland Pub on 8th 8k- 8k road race that starts and finishes at New Holland Brewery. Music and beer at the finish area. 66 East Eighth Street, Holland; 4:00 pm race starts. $35-early, $40, $45-late.
6/19 Monday: Friends of HDL Book Sale at the Herrick District Library- Join HDL for their annual book sale in the Hazel B. Hayes auditorium in the lower level of Herrick District Library. Thousands of books priced 50 cents to $2. On Monday, June 19 from 5:30-8, bring your own bag and fill it for just $5. 300 South River Avenue, Holland. 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
6/20 Tuesday: Ice Cream Family Bike Ride at Velo City Cycles- Family-friendly bike ride (all ages/levels welcome) followed by ice cream provided by Hudsonville Creamery! Free for everyone. Meet at Velo City Cycles for a 6:30pm departure. We ride out and around Windmill Island Gardens and back to the bike shop. Helmets required. 326 South River Aveenue, Holland; Free.
6/21 Wednesday: Hope Summer Repertory Theatre: “Working” at Knickerbocker Theatre- Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working paints a vivid portrait of the men and women that the world so often takes for granted and often overlooks: the schoolteacher, the parking lot attendant, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, the trucker, the fireman, the hooker, and the housewife, just to name a few. It’s a highly original look at the American landscape that is simply impossible to forget and paints a picture of people who work hard and have hard work to do.
6/22 Thursday: Street Performers Series on Thursday Evenings- Head Downtown to experience every kind of performance art imaginable! Jugglers, musicians, mimes, clowns, acrobats and more! 78 East 8th Street, Holland; 6:30pm-8:30pm; Free.
6/23 Friday: Summer Concert Series at Kollen Park & Heinz Waterfront Walkway- Huntington Bank and Holland Recreation bring live music to Kollen Park every Friday night this summer! The bandshell along Lake Macatawa comes alive with a family-friendly, diverse musical line-up each week. Bring your lawn chairs, your dinner, and your dancing and enjoy an evening of unforgettable entertainment. Concerts are free to attend! Alcohol is strictly prohibited, as it is in all City of Holland parks. Pets are not allowed at Kollen Park. Dueling Pianos will be performing on June 23rd. 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland; 6:30-8:30pm; Free.
6/24 Saturday: Euro Hangar Car Show at Park Township Airport- The juxtaposition of assorted elements makes Euro Hangar the unique event it is today- European made cars, local vintage airport, and a picturesque lakeshore. Hosted at the Park Township Airport, with Holland and Lake Michigan just minutes away on either end, the laid back atmosphere of the show draws many different types and styles of cars: stanced, performance based, new, classic, exotic, track car, and others of the like. Don’t forget to hop into one of the open-cockpit bi-planes to get a bird’s eye view of them all! During the day on Saturday, there will also have a children’s area, as well as door prizes and sponsor giveaways.
