6/11 Sunday: West Michigan Petapalooza at Quincy Park- A long standing community event, West Michigan Petapalooza is approaching it thirteenth year. The event prides itself on raising awareness for surrounding pet adoption organizations in the area, as well as fundraising efforts to help support the K-9 Division of the Holland Police Department. 3600 152nd Ave, Holland; 12 PM – 4 PM; Free.
6/12 Monday: Booked for the Summer Presents: Wade Rouse at the Herrick District Library- Wade Rouse will discuss his most recent book, “The Charm Bracelet.” 300 South River Avenue, Holland; 7 p.m. Free.
6/13 Tuesday: Museum on the Move: Historic Architecture Walk at the Holland Museum- a walk through history! This interactive tour teaches participants the hallmarks of some of Holland’s most popular residential architectural styles. Learn about homes built from the 1860s through the 1950s as you walk through the Historic District exploring maps, home catalogs, and architectural guides. 31 West 10th Street, Holland; 7pm; $5.
6/14 Wednesday: Come And Fly Event at Tulip City Air Force Model Airplane Club- Have you ever thought around flying a model airplane? Well here is your chance to try it for FREE! Tulip City Air Force, a model airplane club here in Holland, with be hosting 6 Come and Fly events on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday evenings in June and July. It doesn’t matter if you are 8 or 80; we will partner you with one of our instructor pilots and an instructor helper that guild though your 6 minute flight. You will fly one of our electric stabilized trainer aircraft that are incredibly simple to fly for a beginner. If you want a little more of a challenge you can try your hand at our non-stabilized gas powered trainer. 5053 146th Avenue, Holland; 6:30 PM – 8 PM; Free.
6/15 Thursday: Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kickoff Event at Kollen Park & Heinz Waterfront Walkway- Come join the Alzheimer’s Association celebrate the kickoff of our annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Kollen Park! 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland; 4:30pm-6:30pm.
6/16 Friday: Friends of HDL Book Sale at Herrick District Library- Annual book sale in the Hazel B. Hayes auditorium in the lower level of Herrick District Library. Thousands of books priced 50 cents to $2. 300 South River Avenue, Holland; 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
6/17 Saturday: Outdoor Community Qigong at the Holland Splashpad- Come as you are every or any Saturday morning all summer long as we gather to practice Qigong (pronounced “chee gong”). Combining gentle movement with breath, meditation and self-applied massage will help to bring you improved health, vitality and stress relief. 99 E. 8th St., Holland; 10:00-11:00 AM; Free.
