UNDATED (WHTC) – An Allegan County community remembers one of its own while an outpouring of support will help a Park Township family lay a child to rest.
A memorial service begins at 6 PM tonight in Overisel Reformed Church off of 142nd Avenue for Julie Genzink, the 19-year-old woman who died of injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross that roadway last month. She had been jogging with a friend when that friend suddenly darted across the roadway, and Genzink was hit when she tried to follow her.
Meanwhile, an online effort to raise funds for the funeral of a three-year-old boy has been met. More than half of the five thousand-dollar goal was contributed by the employer of the father of Kairo Klalssen, who died in the family’s backyard swimming pool in a subdivision in back of Lakeshore Elementary School yesterday afternoon. Funeral arrangements were pending.
Both incidents were initially believed to have been tragic accidents.
