HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Area LGBTQ residents will have a place where they can come together with their allies for support and advocacy with the new Out On The Lakeshore Community Center.
Opening the Center has been a goal of Out On The Lakeshore since it formed in the fall of 2015 by leaders of Holland is Ready and Holland PRIDE, who wanted to unify program, fundraising, and supportive efforts toward LGBTQ inclusion and rights in the greater Holland area.
The Community Center, is located at 451 Columbia Ave in Holland. It will provide a central, safe place for LGBTQ youth and adults to gather in Holland. The approximately 1000 square-foot location is envisioned to be a space where LGBTQ people, their families and allies can find support, participate in programs, or simply be together in safe space.
An Open House Tuesday showed off the space to the community on Tuesday. There are several ways to get involved through volunteerism. You can follow the organization online and on Facebook.
