HOLLAND TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 16-year-old girl is in serious condition after being dragged by a car about 75 feet early Monday morning.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sherifff’s Office were dispatched to the scene at around 12:03 a.m. at an apartment complex on 13645 Westwood Lane and 136th Avenue in Holland Township. Sgt. Brian Buter says that a fight broke out and the 16-year-old had been run over by a vehicle and dragged for a short distance.
Upon arrival, deputies found the 16-year-old seriously injured. The girl was first transported to Holland Hospital and later transported to Devos Children’s Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned that the female suspect had left the area and was possibly at a party in the 5000 block of 136th Avenue. The 17-year-old suspect was located and she was arrested.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges including assault with a motor vehicle, driving on a suspended license, and leaving the scene of a crash.
The victim and suspects names have not been released yet.
