SAUGATUCK TWP., MI (WHTC) – With a little help from Washington, Saugatuck Township firefighters will have some new equipment to work with.
Michigan’s two Democratic Party US Senators, Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters, jointly announced on Friday a nearly 42 thousand-dollar Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighters grant to the Lakeshore community’s department to help purchase needed new apparatus. The competitive nationwide program helps first responders obtain needed equipment and training to handle fire-related hazards.
The Saugatuck Township Fire District received a similar grant for over 21 thousand dollars from this program two years ago.
