HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A delegation from Traverse City will be visiting Holland as part of the Mayor’s Exchange Program on June 21st.
The Mayor’s Exchange is an opportunity for communities to share ideas and best practices as well as share the city’s accomplishments and focal points of the city.
A delegation from Traverse City will bring five members of its staff including Mayor Jim Carruthers and City Manager Marty Colburn. Jim Carruthers has lived in the Traverse City area for 28 years. He moved from Boston in 1989 to take care of his grandmother for the summer and never left. Mayor Carruthers got his start in City politics when he advocated for Traverse City Light and Power. He then became a TCLP board member for eight years.
The delegation will begin their day at City Hall and from there take a guided tour of Holland throughout the day. The tour includes showcasing many of Holland’s highlights including the Holland Museum, Van Raalte Farm, Police Department/District Court, Downtown, Kollen Park, BPW Energy Park and Windmill Island Gardens.
