GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The author of a book about the 2004 murders of a Zeeland man and his fiancee on a California beach says Sonoma County authorities might have a hard time getting a conviction.
Marques Vickers wrote a book in 2014 about Jason Allen and Lindsay Cutshall being found dead in Jenner, California while on a camping trip. The book is called “Fish Head Beach: The Silent and Senseless Murders of Lindsay Cutshall and Jason Allen.”
Vickers says and says there are a lot of anomalies in the case.
“It’s a fairly isolated beach, but not so. What struck me as particular odd is they didn’t discover the bodies until about three days after the killing. Thirteen and a half years is along time between the commission of a crime and the investigation. I think they are going to have quite a difficult time when this goes to trial.”
Authorities in California on Friday said they have charged Shaun Gallon with the murders, saying he gave information about the case that only the killer could know.
The weapon used to kill Allen and Cutshall has never been found, and there isn’t any known connection between the suspect and the victims.
