HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Central Dispatch will complete a monthly siren test today, May 5 at 12:00 p.m.
Ottawa County Emergency Management will coordinate the test this month utilizing individual jurisdiction activations tones. The tones will sound in sequence throughout the county says Beth Thomas, Ottawa County Emergency Management Director.
“This means that instead of sounding all county sirens simultaneously, several sirens in one are activated then the following area etc, until all sirens in the county are tested. This could mean that some communities will hear the siren slightly after the noon hour.”
Sirens will run from approximately 1-3 minutes.
Ottawa County siren tests run the first Friday on the month through November.
