HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tools to help save more lives in Holland are now available.
On Wednesday, CPR mannequins and an AED simulator arrived at the Holland Department of Public Safety’s fire division. A donation of the Barton Mallow Company, these tools will be used as part of the department’s community CPR and First Aid programs delivered to residents and organizations throughout the Tulip City, according to Fire Chief Chris Tinney.
In a statement, Tinney pointed out that his department responded to 17 cardiac arrest calls last year, with only two persons able to return to full health. He feels that these new tools can help train residents to administer needed aid before first responders can arrive, improving the chances of those afflicted to survive.
Tinney added that more than 100 people were provided CPR training by his department’s personnel last year, and more can now go through this process due to these new tools. Barton Mallow made the donation in connection with its part in the construction of the Holland Energy Park.
