HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The final touches are being put on preparations for the 2017 Tulip Time Festival.
The first of two straight “dress rehearsal” evenings for Dutch Dancers is this evening at Centennial Park. Not only will the dancers look to get their routines in line before Saturday’s opener of Holland’s annual eight-day signature event, but according to Festival Executive Director Gwen Auwerda, it’s also an opportunity to test a new sound system installed at the park earlier this year specifically for Tulip Time. “When we’ve tested it before, it always sounds great, but then you add 500 dancers and wooden shoes and leaves on the trees and people, it’s a little challenging,” she admitted in an appearance on “WHTC Morning News” earlier this week. “I think it’s going to be great, and we’re really, really excited about it.”
Rehearsals are open to the public this evening and next, both of which begin at 6:30 PM.
